Yesterday Reese and I went on a field trip with her preschool. It was up the Provo Canyon at the Vivian Park. It was rainy and cold but we still had fun. It was neat to see all the kids and how they are doing. She is in a class with four little boys. I think she likes being the only girl! We got to rake leaves, climb up the mountain, do an art project, play, watch the kids sing a song, and eat lunch. I really love Reese's teacher. Reese has come so far in the few weeks that she has been in school. Looking back I am so glad that we decided to stay here instead of moving to Logan. The School For the Deaf is amazing. The teachers and staff are AWESOME. The school has been picked for KSL's High 5 and will be featured tomorrow morning on the news. It will be sometime right after 6:15 A.M. I can't wait to see it. They have a new superintendant this year that rocks. He is getting so much done and is such a good person to be looking out for these kids and the school. The story will also be on KSL.com and it will be interesting to see the response. I am always annoyed when I read comments on KSL. Unfortunately their will probably be comments made about how wrong it is to have your children get a cochlear implants. Reese and her preschool friends are living proof that implants and hearing aids work. It has improved her life already at the age of three. Reese has no idea that she is any different. I really don't think she is. I have a great friend in my neighborhood that has a daughter Kenadee's age and Reese's age. My girls love to play with them. Audrey is Reese's age and she is such a good friend to Reese. She treats Reese like she is the same as everybody else. It always makes me emotional when I watch them play together. She talks to her and asks her questions and I love it when the two of them start giggling. I love their mom. She always gets excited when she hears Reese talk and makes comments about it. It means a lot to me. I am so thankful for all the good people in our lives that support us on this journey. We have been so blessed.

If people DO make comments like that, you just need to brush them off. People can be horrible when they can sit at their computer screen and hide behind their screen name. You know that you made the right decision & you just have to remind yourself of that when others open their big fat mouths! You rock!
She is so stinkin' cute... and don't even get me started on the people that comment on KSL... it's like they wait to find something to rile people up about just because they can. Lindsay is 100% right!!
You made me cry. I love having your girls over to play (and when Jensen and Abby are old enough they can play too.) Thanks for being such a good friend. I was just thinking about what an awful selfish person I am and then I read your blog. Maybe I do something right...sometimes. You are an amazing person and an amazing mom!!!
Thanks for the link to the new story. I loved it. I don't want my baby to get big too fast, but I am excited to work with the teachers at that school.
And I have to say, as usual, Reese is so beautiful. I love that girl.
