Icky sickies

It has been a long weekend. All of us except Troy are sick. On Thursday Reese sounded really hoarse and I told Troy I had a feeling she was going to wake up in the night sick. She did. At about eleven she woke up coughing and I could tell right away it was croup. I did the steam shower and took her out in the cold but she sounded nasty. I wasn't looking forward to it getting worse in the middle of the night so I took her to the emergency room to have her checked out. She was not happy. I could tell she felt horrible. They said it was good that I had brought her in and wanted to give her a dose of steroids and do a breathing treatment. They told me to give her the medicine which I knew would be impossible. She does not like medicine at all. So I waited for her to calm down a bit. When I tried she spit it out and got it everywhere. It was in her hair and in her eye. One of the nurses came by and I told him I couldn't get her to take it. He left and came back with about 6 suckers and told her if she took her medicine he would give her all the suckers. Worked like magic. We made it home at about two in the morning and she has been doing much better. I wish I could bribe her to take off her swimming suit. She has had a swimming suit on since Thursday. She gets in the tub with it on and then puts on a dry one under her clothes. She is a funny kid. Friday Kenadee started coughing and right behind her was Jensen. LOTS of coughing going on. Then I woke up with it today. I don't feel horrible so I can't complain. It has been a long weekend. We went to a wedding for Kenadee's barbies, had shakes from JCW's, played Candyland and Monopoly. Today we all stayed home from church so we wouldn't spread it. We have been in comfy clothes laying around all day. Hopefully it won't last too long or I will go crazy.
