I was expecting it to look alot worse. They did a great job and shaved the least amount of hair that they could. I am definitely going to have to cut her hair because she has a mullet going on.

So glad it's over.....
So yesterday went really well. We had to be at Primary Children's Hospital at 8:00 and the surgery was scheduled for 9:30. We got her changed and then we got to hang out in a toy area with a million other kids for a couple hours because her surgery got pushed back to 10:40. I swear that morning was forever long. Finally the anesthesiologist came to get her. He explained what was going to happen then we put her in a wagon and they took her away. I hope I never have to do that again. It was definitely one of the hardest things I have ever done. I was trying so hard not to cry but of course that didn't happen. Then it was off the waiting room. The surgery took a little over two hours. After it was over her surgeon came and told us that everything went great and that there were no complications. It was such a relief to get that news. Then we had to wait about another half hour to see her. When she started to come to they had me go to the recovery area. Troy had to wait because they would only let one parent come back. Seeing her for the first time was pretty hard too because she was pretty upset. The bandage was covering her eyes so she couldn't see me, and of course she couldn't hear me either. That was another hard moment, but then the "mom mode" kicked in and we had to get her to calm down. They gave her medication to help her calm down and she fell back asleep. They moved us into a room and Troy was able to come and see her. That was probably the hardest part of all of it for him. After she woke up again she was so much better. She didn't love the bandage because it was pretty tight and she could hardly see, so she ripped it off and we had to re-wrap it. I was amazed because within a few hours she was back to normal. She scarfed down some macaroni and cheese and then she wanted to run around the halls of the hospital. Once she finally went to sleep she slept great. They discharged her this morning about 8:00. She has been so great. If you didn't know better you would have no idea she had her head cut open and her skull drilled into. Anyways I posted some pictures, but I will warn you if you have a weak stomach some of them might make you sick.
The night before.
Getting to the hospital.

Troy thinks I look like I am praying here. I am not I was just tired and so relieved.
These pictures are still hard for me to look at. I felt so bad for her.

She was starving. She didn't get to eat at all until about 5:00 last night.

Back at home today.
