Time for another update about Reese. She is doing so great and has come so far. On November 2 it will have been a year since her surgery. Seems like forever ago yet I can't believe it has already been a year. Today we met with Amanda. I give her most of the credit for how far Reese has come. She is so wonderful with Reese and Reese adores her. We did an assessment because it had been six months since we had done the last one. We had made goals and we were able to mark off every single one except for the big and little concept. We are still working on that one. What we found out today is that she has made 10 months of progress in six months time. She is now only about 3-5 months behind other kids her age. That is so amazing to me to see how far she has come. She loves to "talk" now days. She wants to talk to anyone that will listen to her. If she likes your she will grab your face and look you in the eyes while nodding her head and tell you a story. It is pretty funny to watch. She communicates so much with her eyes. She can be such a little stinker but she is such a lovey kid too. Every morning or anytime I come home she has to hug my leg and pat me. Some of the things she is doing.
-She can say Kenadee pretty well. She put lots of dddeee's on the end.
-She gives most words a good try.
-She love to sing Itsy Bisty Spider, Five Little Ducks, and Monkey's Swinging in The Tree. She recognizes these and will do the actions.
-She says please
-She says Dad
-She makes duck, dog, cat, elephant, monkey noises. The monkey one is pretty funny.
-She is doing great in her dance class. She sings in the microphone and keeps up with all the other kids. I had an emotional moment today when I was watching her. It was so neat to see her singing and following directions. Cheesy maybe but as her mom it is awesome to see her progress.
-She is a dancing queen. She LOVES music and thinks or knows that she is a princess.
-She can show you where her nose is if you ask.
-Says baby really well.
-Understands quite a few simple commands.
-When we say prayers she prays with whoever is praying.
Some days I feel overwhelmed by all of the things going on and all of the therapy. When I am able to sit down and write all of this and see how far she has come it is worth every second.
